Temperature monitoring and fan settings with NVIDIA?

I had been using ATI cards but decided to switch to NVIDIA this time. In the ATI Control Panel I was able to set the fan speed I desired and check the card's temperature.

I don't see anything like this in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Is there an extra software made by NVIDIA that has to be installed in order to do this?

I have a GTX 580 btw.

u need MSI Afterburner... or a software which supports the card and the fan's PWM function.

another vote for MSI afterburner, great software.

rivatuner will allow you to set your fan speed to whatever you chose along with viewing the gpu temp's and log if you want.

before I went to water, I had profiles set up like this: http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/273072-how-set-auto-fan-profile-most.html. I highly suggest you look into this.

another vote for MSI afterburner, great software.

+1 you can see/tweak clocks, voltages, fan speeds, and have several different set-ups you can switch between on a key press. Very easy to use and works very well.
