temp warning while watching BMW films

I just finished building my first last week and for a few days i had it out in the middle of the room where it got great airflow. But now i moved it under my desk and the temps are up a few degrees. Now today i was watching one of those BMW film movies on Quick time and my temp alarm went off at 50c. So i ripped my cover off and aimed my vornado across the room at the open case, down to 35 in less than 2 minutes. But i know i can't keep doing that so I'm going to need a good case fan. I have a p4 2.66 on an Intel 845gebvl2, stock HS and fan (Yeah i know i should probably replace that with something that runs alittle quieter and has better flow). But for my case fan I was looking at the Papst Vario 8412NGMLV, because i've heard some people talking about them and this comp is about 10' from my bed so i need it to be very very quiet. What I do not know is if i plug the fan into my board will it adjust the fan speed or do i have to plug it in to my antec true 380 cause i'm pretty sure that will regulate the speed of any fan.

OK, I just looked at the alert history and it wasn't the processor zone that triggered the alarm, that was set at 60c. It was system zone two that went up to 50c and triggered the alarm. I raised that to 55 but i still need to go order that case fan. thanks for the help

1) Is 50 your CPU or case temp? If it is the former, that is okay. If it is the latter, which I doubt, your case sucks.
2) The stock intel hsf is good.
3) From the name, it sounds like the papst will either adjust automatically according to temps or have a manual adjust option.

The 50c was not my cpu temp it was my system zone 2 sensor temp somewhere on my motherboard. Do i know where exactly, no. I assume it's running that hot because i have NO CASE FANS. it looks like i'm going to get 2 of the aforementioned pabsts and put one in the lower front and another in the back. Is there a way to have the rear stay off till a certain temp or can they only run at low speed until triggered?
