Temp Video Card Replacement

What would happen to a XP install if someone temporary replaced a defective Sapphire Tech Radeon 9000 Pro card with an old PCI video card for a few days until a replacement Radeon 9000 was received? Would that mess up the ATI reference drivers?

I would just uni nstall those drivers and reinstall them onces its back just to be on the safe side. Also, make a system restore point before taking it out for a few days.
