Temp sensor software for a Biostar TForce 6100

Hey all, I'm trying to get a solid temp sensor for my new PC. My gaming rig uses MBM5 to monitor temps, but I haven't figured out how to get MBM5 to work for it.

Does someone know how to do that, or does someone use another program they could recomend?

thank you!

Why don't you use the Hardware monitoring software that came with the mobo - you just have to scrounge around on the CD to find it. The hardware monitor function is usually part of the Super I/O chip which in your case is the ITE IT8712F as listed in the specs in your manual. These chips have a number of temp sensor lines that are all the same, so if the utility vendor hasn't sorted it out for your mobo, then you'll have to figure out which temp reading goes to what. I did look around a bit on the Biostar web site but I couldn't find the HW monitor utility. However, on the Biostar Taiwan web site, http://www.biostar.com.tw , I did find the HW monitor utilities. If you can't find the one on your CD, then maybe one of those will work for you.

MBM5 is old now, and it isnt actively developed anymore either. There are some other free alternatives that you could use:

1. speedfan
2. Everest Home Edition (this was discontinued a few months ago, but it should still work with your board.

Im sure there are many other options as well, you just have to look at them.

Actually MBM was just updated for a couple of other mobos/HWM chips. But IDK if the ITE chip is supported.

I installed the "T-Utility Hardware Monitor" that was on the Biostar CD, but it does not have a HD temp. I'll hunt around the website and see if I can find anything else.

INM8, I snagged everest home, looks sold, I'll check out speedfan as well.

thank you guys!

Oh and everest indicates my CPU is at 25 C and HD is at 36, so I'm psyched.
