Temp. Readings on Asus A7V333...

I just built a system using the A7V333...but the temp. readings seem kinda high...especially for the CPU. I have an Athlon XP 2200 with Volcano 7+ heatsink and Arctic Silver III on there...and the idle CPU temp. is 60C. My system/mobo temp. is doing just fine...so I know it's not that...but on Motherboard Monitor 5...the Asus 2 temp. reading...is that the temp. reading from the diode, the one used for C.O.P.? If it's not, how can I get a better reading? Really, I'm just really confused right now :| So any sort of advice on anything would be greatly appreciated =)

To make a long story short, 60C is a good, normal reading for the A7V333, especially if you enabled Q-Fan in the BIOS and have your CPU running from the CPU fan header. The temperature readings in Asus Probe and in the BIOS are coming from a socket thermistor on the surface of the motherboard, and not from the CPU diode itself. C.O.P. watches the diode, but it keeps the readings to itself.

Expect about a 6C temperature swing from idle to full load.

the 2200+ is a hot cpu for even a volcano 7+
i try to stay under 55 but that's just me
the chips are rated upto like 90c before they fry
so as long as yur runnin stable and not havning problems then don't worry about it
