Temp range for an OC I5-2500k

OC to 4.1GHz, with all four cores around 40-42c during light usage.. I used prime95 and it went up to around 60c before I shut it off.

So is that safe, or should I try and reset the cooler and thermal paste again?

Perfectly safe, those are good temps.

Dont worry until it gets to 80*C+ and even then its still fine up until the thermal shutoff at 100*C

That's exactly where I'm at with my 2500K... 4.1GHz with a CoolerMaster 212+ w/dual fans.

At full memory load using LinX my temps top out at about 72C... this was after I reduced vCore .08v, otherwise it was running at almost 82C.

In hindsight, I probably didn't need the second fan on the 212+, I think the real trick was backing the voltage down. As soon as I go above 4.2GHz I start having trouble... and it's not worth it.

Yeah. I'm just running a single fan 212+ set up.. I didn't even know it was possible to mount two fans on it

Yes, the kit comes with another set of brackets. It takes this fan and a splitter cable.

And looks like this mounted up...
