Temp Question

My Brother has a P4 2.4gHz processor with an Abit IS7 Motherboard. He has a case that has decent airflow and it seems like his CPU temperatures are high for a P4. I was wondering if Abit overestimated the temps on their motherboard and by how much? Right now the idle temp is about 43C with stock HSF. Also when gaming the max temp is around 50C. The case temp is about 27C.

As a little side note he purcahsed an SLK-947U with a Tornado fan and the temperatures didn't change. What's going on here??🙁

what are his ambient temps? if hes in a room thats 70-75°f, those are ok temps. is his sytem overclocked? also, he might try reaplying his thermal goo... to much is bad... to little is bad. airflow through the case is important... whats he got for fans?

i have an is7 p4 2.6c oc'ed to 3.12 with an slk900u and 92 enermax. at 32 system temp i get 39-41 as an idle temp of my cpu. i have read lots and lots of threads on the abit forums and they say that it overesitmates the temps sometimes by 10 degrees. if he has a tornado and the new thermalright hs he should be fine and i would rest assured that its prolly a problem with the way abit calculates the temps.
