Temp question on Duron 1.3Ghz

I have upgraded from Duron 700Mhz to Duron 1.3Ghz I noticed temp 51C/125F is this normal? I am using ECS KS5A mobo and same Thermake Volcano 5 cpu fan I did clean old compond paste from the fan.

Duron 1.3's are hot procs. I am running one in my brother's computer with an OCZ Gladiator SE (quiet all-copper HSF) and it gets temps around 45 or so. The reason they are so hot is because AMD upped the voltage on higher model Durons because yields were too low using the low voltage. So it's almost like all Duron 1.2 and 1.3 are running overvolted =/

thats one thing i noticed too, my duron 1ghz @1.33 (133fsb) runs typically at 45C load (prime95) with an sk6 and a 70mm 42cfm fan.
i also noticed the voltage going into the processor is 1.78V and it never drops below that, even at idle, and i didn't set it there

haha kool, I had that same exact setup running, but mine was around 42C load.
Although I do have 4 case fans and rounded cables.

Just switched the Duron for a XP2000+ 🙂

I had a Thunderbird 1000mhz running with a complete pile of rubbish Neng Fan and that was like 55c idle and 65c under load but it coped....that temp is fine.
