Temp question, and should I do anything about them?

CPU=122 F
Mobo=87 F

(using Asus Probe on an Asus K7N8X w/XP2600+, stock retail cpu fan)

Are these temps OK? I just recently had a graphics problem, finally traced it to a software prob, but I thought for awhile it might be a heat problem so I went out and bought an Antec CPU fan and heatsink, and a HDD cooler, also Antec.

I'll probably mount the HDD cooler, since it will have an exterior digital temp readout (tres' cool!), but if the cpu temp looks ok to you guys, I'd just as soon not take a chance of sticking a screwdriver through my cpu.

One upside of this supposed problem was that I got rid of the dustbunnies inside my case. :)

Those temps aren't bad at all. I wouldn't worry about them at all unless your computer starts exhibiting signs of instability (crashing and freezing) during intense operation (gaming and the like).

Welcome to the forums!

It's not bad, but it could be improved. What do you have in the way of case cooling? Your mobo temp is a bit high and if you could get that down it'd help lower the CPU temp too.

Those temps look normal, but most of us are used to seeing the temps in celsius. I just used anologies - one is like a warm summer day, the other looks like a hot day in Phoenix...

Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for the welcome! I've been lurking here for a few months and it seems like there are some very knowledgeable people here.

I built this box last fall (first time ever!), and so far I'm pretty happy with the whole process, but my knowledge of computers is spotty at best. I use it for flightsimming and surfing the web, and that's about it-not much of a "normal gamer" as I am too old and my reflexes aren't up to it! :)

Specs:
old generic beige case (looking at an Antec Lanboy-I drag the computer around in my semi, and use it in motels)
A7N8X mobo-nondeluxe
Xp2600+
512 Megs PC3200
9700 Pro 128 megs
onboard sound
120 Gig Maxtor HDD
Asus 50x CD-ROM
generic floppy
19" Envision LCD
old Logitech wireless keyboard
Optical Intellimouse 2.0
WinXP Home

Anyway, glad to be aboard!
