TEMP PROBLEMS

I have just installed my X2 3800+ and have done a clean install of W2K and all necessary drivers.

I've installed Speedfan 4.25 and have started overclocking. When I use a Burn-in program - 2 instances - the temperature starts to drop instead of going up! Suggesting that the program is somehow read the values inversely.

I have also my original instance of W2K installed on another drive which enable me to switch backward and forward between reboots (This installation doesn't recognise the 2nd core). The temperatures read what I would expect about 45oC+ underload - about the same as my overclocked Winnie 3000+

1) Does the X2 shut down one core when it is not in use? (I believe it doesn't but if someone can prove otherwise)

2) If it doesn't I will use the reads under my old installation of W2K and ignore the Speedfan reading.

Try to upgrade the mobo's bios. Maybe the mobo is reading incorrectly the temps and an upgrade fix it.
