temp monitoring

I have an Abit KT7A Raid and an Athlon 1.2 GH. I am somewhat worried about the temp of my CPU. I downloaded this program called Hmonitor Pro (shareware) and it says my idle temp is really good (32-35 C) but when I put strain on the CPU it says the temp goes up to 55 C. This can't be right for the CPU, can it? Additionally, I ran a burn in utility and my computer, although 55 C, still worked and I didn't crack the die or anything. So, is the monitoring program crap or are these temps acceptable?

If the program is crap, does anyone know of a good one?
