Finally upgraded my 9800 pro to 6800 GT. Was playing with some settings and noticed the temperature in the setting, for idling readout at 64C and load after playing halo, cod or 3dmark05 readout at 74-75C. Is this normal for these card? i didnt oc it, the card comes with 370/1000. I searched for some thread in this forum, some said normal, some said not. I guess i just need a reassuring words :)

Yeah, it's pretty normal. These cards are all over the place; different people load between 60-85C on these suckers.

You'd probably do well to get some aftermarket cooling for the GPU, though (NV Silencer or Zalman).

Seconded...mine idles at about 58-60C (depending on ambient temp), and load is around 75-77C last time I checked. Mine's been running fine for over a year now, so I wouldn't worry about it too much - it's normal.

Edit: Forgot to mention that mine's running at Ultra speeds (400/1100) - and has been since day one - but it didn't affect temps a whole lot, a few degrees at most maybe.

I have the AGP one with the crappy heatsink and get similar readings, about 60C idle and 76C maximum load (at stock speeds). They go up about 2C when overclocked.

thanks for the reply. I'll stop worrying. Thinking of getting Antec Spectrum Fan Card or something, hate to open the copper fan and slap in NV silencer and all that mess. Kinda scare ended up messing the card.
