asus p4pe 2.4@3.0 on stock bios is 1007(latest)
kingston pc 2700(ddr 3200)
case has 7 fans not coutning cpu

Here is my problem When my computer goes in to stand by mode, my temps shoot up like its in full load. As soon as i bring computer out of stand by mode temp will start dropping back to idle temperature. Any idea what could be going on?

I would check the power management section of your bios.
Seems like I have built a system or two that has had an option for shutting down the HS/fan on stand-by.
If it does make sure it is disabled.

It'll be all those fans whirring away and heating the system up <g>

Yeh, sounds like a fan has powered down that shouldn't.
