Temp diff between Palominos and T-Breds?

The Palomino 1600 consumes 62.8 watts and the T-bred consumes 49.4 watts at atock speeds.

That information comes from tomshardware.com

My 1600+ Palomino idles at just over 40 degrees C, my 1700+ Tbred A ran at 34 degrees C. This was with the same HSF and AS3 - identical setups. However, under full load, the Palomino increased by 6-7 degrees, while the Tbred only 3 or so degrees.

Well I already have the paly but I'm wondering if its worth the switch. CPU is running at 49C @ idle in my SN41G2. I'm hoping a T-Bred would drop the temp a bit

Good thing about T-Bred is that you can get your original speed at lower voltage. I am currently running my T-Bred B 1800+@1.83GHz with 1.5V. Temperature is idle 38C, 43C max using Volcano II (old cheap cooler). I am sure if I decide to use at its original clock 1.53GHz, I can get it with around 1.45V or even 1.4V, and the temperature will be even lower.

Cool, I should try it 😉 But since I am overclocking it at 1.83G, 1.5V looks pretty ok, I guess. (And I didn't say my CPU does the best, duh!)
