Telnet to Alhpa server through D-link DI-624

Hi,

I'm having a problem Telnetting to my Alpha on port 23 server from an external source. My configuration is as follows.

I have a Broadband connection through a Netopia modem, which is set up in bridge mode.
I then have this connection going into the WAN port of my D-link.

My D-link is set to an internal IP of 192.168.0.250
My alpha is set to an internal IP of 192.168.0.200
I have a Dell with an internal IP of 192.168.0.201

I can Telnet to the alpha from my Dell on the internal network no problem. But when I try and telnet to it using my external IP it won't connect. I have Telnet set up on the D-Link's virtual server. Both machines are in the DHCP range. I have double checked the firewall and made sure both port 23&24 are open and I have disabled all IP/MAC filters on the D-link.

I put a http server on the Dell and can connect to it from the external address when I have set it up on the D-Link's Virtual server.

I was wondering has anybody come across this before?

You're going to have to set up Port forwarding. The router doesn't know where to put the connection request...

Set up the router w/ Port Forwarding of Port 23 to 192.168.0.200. You should be able to connect from outside the LAN.
