On November 4, Sony launches the upcoming sci-fi shooter Resistance 2 for the PlayStation 3. But a few fortunate readers can earn the opportunity to try the game early.

Tell us in 50 words or less why you deserve to join that first wave of fighters. We will choose 400 submissions and send each an access code for the Resistance 2 beta ending Thursday.

Shouldn't they have done this...oh, I don't know...a week or two ago? Seems kind of late to jump into a beta that's ending in a few days. But jump on it if you want.

"why" you should have, not "what" you should have.

BTW, I'm in the beta right now. It's pretty fun. It's only MP and they limit you on stages and stuff, but I've done the coop mode and it seems like a decent FPS.

I've never played the 1st resistance, but R2 looks very much like Halo.

tried the beta and the co-op encourages teamplay but is fairly monotonous. it's cool that with 8 people you can split up into groups and flank the enemy but that's about as exciting as it gets. you shoot and heal and they put up shields. that's about it. as for 60-man battles, they pulled it off with practically no lag which is cool but it's really just a big zerg as you'd expect.
