and here's the short version
alignment_graph_3756.png

Think about it for a bit, browse the descriptions, and see what you come up with. A lot of people immediately default to lawful good, when they're really neutral good, for example.

I'm lawful neutral. Sometimes I think I'm too chaotic or too evil for that, but then I catch myself calling out a troll not because they're being a dick, but because they suck and should know better, which is textbook lawful neutral type 3. I don't hold any reverence for laws or rules unless they get results, then I'm all about them. Talk of absolute good and evil gets a hard eye roll, but I certainly see the value in being a good citizen.

I'd be all over that chart, depending on the circumstances.

There is no solid black and white answer, sorry.

Tough call. I have a reputation at work for going around political BS and not putting up with incompetence.

In my personal life I'm nicer and play by the rules.

It really has more to do with why you do what you do than it does with what you do. Example: I prefer being nice, generally speaking it gets better long term results and is less stressful, but I'm not committed to being nice in the way that a *-good person would be. A *-good person is nice because it's who they are, they just love doing right by people.

I'm probably not going to explain it better than that page does so I won't try, but each alignment has its own article with better explanation and different ways that the alignment commonly manifests.

I'm closest to true neutral in general, but sometimes swing down to neutral evil.

chaotic neutral.

I'm not a good guy, but certainly not evil. at least not when it comes to innocent people, things, etc. the inherit problem with people, is that once we reach a certain age, we are evil in so many ways in many situations. i have to look out for myself and sequentially my family, above all else, because no one else will. in reality, it's actually worse than that, because society (throughout all of history) is working to take your money, mindfuck and control you.

the rules are there solely to control domesticated pussies, putting them at a major disadvantage to those that are willing to risk their ass breaking them. plus I genuinely enjoy breaking the rules. :D

Chaotic neutral is more precise, that way we know they don't mean chaotic-*.

generally true neutral, but slightly tilted towards lawful evil, when necessary.
