I mean for $350 a in-car mp3 player kicks ass.

I agree with you totally about the money and about the clarion 😉 However, i know a lot of people on here probably have old computers laying around, i know i didn't spend nearly 1000 on my setup. 150$ for lcd screen, 40$ for matx mobo, 40$ for micro psu, 30$ for videocard w/ tv out, i had the hard drive, ram, and everything else. I've used those head units, and while they're good, they don't cut it, they're slow, only a cd of mp3s, and often fail to encompass basic functionality, but i will say this, they're progressing quite nicely from the first aiwa.
