This will be my first personal experience with SCSI. Is there anything I'm missing? I know that each cable needs to be terminated. Apparently the LVD cable includes the terminator; is it also included with the other cable?

Please point out the obvious errors before I make a mistake. Thanks!

Dont think that card is gonna be fast enough for that drive. Check the specs. I believe it maxes out at 80MBs, where the Adaptec 39160 is 160. You might want to recheck specs.

I know the drive does 160, and that the card is limited to 80, but I don't think that shouldn't be a problem. All the devices combined will never reach 80MB/s, let alone 160MB/s.

My main concern is with the interfaces. From what I can tell, the HDD has an U160 interface which works with the U80 68pin connector on the card. The other devices, on the other hand, seem to be SCSI-2, and use the 50 pin interface. Do I have this right? Have I selected the right cables, or do I need something else?

Thanks for the input.

Marty

There should be both 68 and 50-pin interfaces on the card. Just connect the devices to the appropriate cable, everything should be working fine. Read the docs about termination options on the card, you may need to change some settings if you use both SCSI channels...
