Tell me if this seems impressive

I have two 512MB sticks of Corsair PC2700, model CMX256A-2700C2 tho they are differnet REV.

One stick is rated for CL2.5 to to 167MHz and CL2 up to 133Mhz
while the other one is CL2 upto 167MHZ

Anyways, right now I have my FSB at 220Mhz using a 1:1 ratio so the ram is at 440Mhz using the timings 2.5-3-3-11.

Considering this ram was only rated for DDR333, I think this is rather impresive. I realize the timings are super fast like 2-2-2 but Im sure the difference is small.

Has anyone else had this kind of luck with Corsair memory?

Thoughts?

I have some samsung chips rated for 2.5-3-3-6 at 133mhz which run 2.5-3-3-6 at 200mhzx2 at default voltage (2.5 or 2.6 I think). They've run at 229mhz at 3-4-4-8 at default voltage, I haven't tried higher speeds due to limitations of the mobo at the time (no pci/agp lock). If I gave it more voltage I think it would rock even more. My current mobo only recognizes them as 133 chips and won't let me rum them at DDR400 argh!

I got mine running at 2.7 volts. I didnt even think if they would run at default, I just upped the voltage when I upped the FSB. Whats really weird about these chips tho, is that they wont run at CL3 Even when running everything at default my computer will not boot using a CL3 setting.

I'm just happy its running at these speeds, saves me from buying newer DDR400+ ram

Yeah you should be really happy. That's a great overclock, and with ram so expensive nowadays, you just saved a lot of money. :)

ddr 333 and 400 are pretty much the same thing and the savings are negligalbe.

ie if you buy 333 today you are stupid as you should have bought 400 for just about the same, but shouldnt be surprised as the 333 should be able to hit the same speesd o/c'ed as the 400.

These sticks are at least a year old now.

my Geil ram OCs 100mhz easy with slight latency changes also, and it runs under spec at stock speed and will run 40mhz past stock speed at spec. :)
