Tell me if I did something wrong which may have caused BOTH my MSI K8N neo2 Platinum and my Abit AV8 to not signal the monitor. That means no BIOS for me

1)I left my CPU on the steel chassis, pins touching the case
2)Cleared the CMOS header when the mobo was turned on.

FYI: I have the Aspire 500w PSU if its not on my signature (34 amps in +12v rail)
FYI: My mobo is on a cardboard box right now...
FYI:Tried bare system, and ram in each slot.

Ask me any other question that might help me solve my problem

The underside of the motherboard shouldn't lay against metal because that will cause short circuits. If it's in the case, it should be on standoffs, like this.

Your motherboard's manual tells you how to clear the CMOS (properly) on page 2-21 for the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, and I don't yet have the manual for the Abit.

The MSI's manual says
You can clear CMOS by shorting 2-3 pin while the system is off. Then return to 1-2 pin position. Avoid clearing the CMOS while the system is on; it will damage the mainboard

Setting the jumper to clear with the power on is bad as is setting the mobo on metal and turning it on. I don't know to what extent it could/would damage it though.
