Tell me about your Digital Camcorder

I'm about to buy a Canon Optura Pi.

I've looked at just about EVERY DAMNED OPTION out there.

I decided on the Optura for these reasons...

* OPTICAL Stabilization
Since Stability is handled via lenses, there's minimal loss at high zooms
* Progressive Scan CCD
No interlacing when capturing frames, means cleaner, less blurring video
* Analog Input
I can use it as a conduit to capture video from other sources
* High Shutter speed 1/4000
Great for action shots.
* The Optura is RENOWNED among it's owners for ability in capturing GOOD quality in medium/low light (inside lighting)

There you have it. Anyone else have any other good info?

I guess its a matter of preference but I opted to go for a Sony Digital Hi-8 Camcorder because Hi-8 tapes are cheaper, longer and easier to find than DV tapes. The size of the Optura is nice though. It would go nice with my Canon S100 Elph.

I have one of the Sony D8 cams.. the 720 to be more exact. For the amount I paid for it, I wish I had gone for one of the smaller true dv's... I chose D8 because the tapes are cheaper, easier to find and records longer... but the bulkiness of it is starting to bother me.
