Me and my fiance have been thinking about relocating after she finishes her 2nd bachelors in 3 years. We've got 3 possible locations narrowed down...D.C, Charlotte, and Nashville.

Can anyone tell me about Charlotte?

Nashville > Charlotte.

..and I'm from NC. I love the state, honestly, but Charlotte is one of my least-favorite regions. Just very, very...boring, imo.

We're not necessarily looking for "fun", but it'd be a good feature for us.

She's looking to be a school teach, and I work in local TV. Nashville has my heart, but we're both open to suggestions.

How is Charlotte boring?

compare Charlotte to RTP, which has 3 major Universities and booming high-end tech job market. Closer to the coast, for one thing (unless you prefer the mountains...so Charlotte in that regard), and the type of entertainment and opportunities you'd expect for a region that serves a shit-load of students. It also tends to be high on the list of most desirable places to live in the USA, made it to #1 a few years back.

Sure, I'm biased, but I can't think of any reason to live in Charlotte unless you're in banking or finance. Plus, it's way too fucking close to SC. screw that state. 😛
