It's legal to beat your wife there. But only one time a month.

Little Rock isn't bad, but it isn't great either. No pro sports, not even much college sports, until the Razorbacks come to town.

Night life, I can't comment as I haven't lived there, but I have lived in south Arkansas and north Arkansas all my life and pass thru there quite a bit.

Certain parts of LR used to be bad, really bad... There are still parts you want to avoid, but I believe it has gotten better.

There is the Alltel Arena that has a lot of shows: http://www.ticketmaster.com/Verizon...-Arena-tickets-North-Little-Rock/venue/221866

There is a pretty active music scene from what I recall. The river front if I am not mistaken.

They have the Clinton Library. http://www.clintonlibrary.gov/

I think they have a minor league baseball team, the Arkansas Travelers.

Not sure how to compare the BBQ...

I think they still have a water park: http://www.wildrivercountry.com/

They have a couple of descent malls, the McCain and Park Plaza, with PP being the better of the two.

The children's hospital is in Little Rock and is a great facility.

The only medical school in the state is in LR and hence the university hospital is also in LR.

They have an air force base there.

The summer's are sweltering hot in August/September. I mean, if you aren't used to high heat high humidity, you can't even begin to understand...

The winters can be rough, if there is snow or ice. People just don't know how to drive in it. But that is pretty rare, maybe once a year if you are lucky. I believe last year they had a few instances of winter precip, but that's pretty rare.

Not really sure about lakes or fishing, as I always went to Lake Degrey or south of there. Up here in northwest Arkansas we have Beaver lake. Never even looked at water life in LR.

They have an airport in LR.

Any specific questions? I'll try to answer what I can.

Most of the stuff you would want to do is either in the River Market area(Flying Fish, Flying Saucer, and some Museums), or in West Little Rock, South West Little rock is a good place to get shot.

BBQ-Whole Hog Cafe, you could also go to the Mean Pig, in Cabot which was featured in Man vs Food a few years ago.

Would be a lateral move at best from Alabama, no? Of course I have little room to talk. I moved from IL to KY.

:p

Eh. I'm in Huntsville-ish. We have a bunch of nerds here, so it's not really that rednecky.

I'm in Lexington which is actually is one of the most educated cities (by college degree) in the US. It's an anomaly with the rest of the state too :)

I almost wanted a coat today. It's not even 70 degrees outside. ;)

Central IL (where I left from) is just as hot and humid as here. And at least here I have a neighborhood pool that's a 5 minute walk away. Summers are a wash. At least here annual snowfalls can be measured in amounts that could be overnight amounts where I was before.

Don't know anything about Little Rock, but three of my four grandparents were from Arkansas and we visited quite a bit. Beautiful state and very nice people. I mean silly friendly people. Whenever we visited it always startled me the first day or two when almost every person we'd meet would nod and say hello.

Little rock women are bad to the bone.

Plenty to do in LR. Pinnacle mountain 20-30 minutes away. Riverfest every year. Its not a huge place like Dallas or Houston but its definitely a nice place.

Little Rock has the Mid-America Science Museum, which is actually pretty cool and a great place for kids and adults. They even have (had?) a large active Tesla Coil but their website doesn't currently mention it when it did in the past.

There is also the Museum of Discovery, which I have no experience with but it looks interesting.

Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum
The USS Razorback (SS-394) is on display for tours.

Crater of Diamonds State Park
Bring your own shovel, bucket, hand garden tools, and dirty clothing, and dig through the mud for actual diamonds. Great fun if you are prepared with shovels, garden tools, and dirty clothing.

Very extremely humid since much of the winds from the Gulf of Mexico travel upwards into Arkansas. Lately I have heard that when the winds are right, allergies kick in due to mold and fungus from when New Orleans was flooded a few years ago. Actually, the last time I was there a few years ago, I had a dull headache that wouldn't go away the whole time I was visiting. Makes me not want to return, to be honest.

The Air Force base is in Jacksonville but it's called Little Rock Air Force Base so people don't go to Florida looking for Jacksonville Air Force base.
