Tell me a good reason to upgrade my SB Awe64

For games, the SBLive offers surround sound through 4 speakers and added digital effects (EAX) for environmental echoes etc. The newer versions also offer digital output for digital speakers. If you're just playing mp3's then it really doesn't make much of a difference.
 
Ummmm... Is it the ISA version??

If so, you might find it a little tough finding a motherboard with an ISA slot in the near future.

Other than that, I don't see a reason.

The only reason I ever upgraded my AWE64 Gold was because I needed my only ISA slot for my modem. The AWE64 series were great cards and are still favorites in the Linux community.
 
if you have good enuff speakers, you can definitely tell live! from awe64; pci sound cards have much lower signal noise ratio which was one of their main selling pointsl. you never know what you are missing 🙂
 
There really is none. I still think the BEST sound card ever is the SB AWE64. I just can't resist new technology.
