uhm... these don't work anymore. Telemarketers have workarounds. Plus you can just put a tone in front of your answering machine message and it volia, you have a free one. Or you can just sign up for the national do not call list. This is not a deal anymore.

my gf has one and she VERY rarely gets a telemarketer (and when she does they are not there because of the telezapper which makes their automated system hang up).

Also, as far as putting one on your answering machine it doesn't work if you answer your phone and it's a telemarketer where as the telezapper does.

AND, the national call list doesn't go into effect for another 2 months so imo $9.99 isn't THAT much to spend for 2 months of more silence.

Last point is, when the national call list goes into effect, there are still many organizations that can call you legallay (charities, companies you have done business with, and there are a few more exceptions I can't remember atm)..

There was a link posted before that Telemarketer's systems are being updated to abide by new laws that mandate that their caller ID be shown and this feature also disables the Telezapper, so it no longer functions. The cost to the telemarketer companies is ~2,000 per seat, so upgrades will not happen fast, but it IS happeneing currently. I am a happy Telezapper user for the last 2+ years and looks like other then the "do not call" list, I will start using the "blocked caller" feature of my caller ID machine soon...
