i have cable both for tv and internet. ive noticed that on one of my televisions, the reception is poor especially on UPN. Is there any device that one would recommend to improve the signal quality/reception.

Get satellite. ;)

Seriously check all your coax cables and connections for any damage, loose connections, and interference from other devices. If none of those, then I'd complain to the cable company and have them send somebody out to find the problem.

Well if you happen to be like me and have split the cable and routed it all over the palce, then you may need to go back and check all your splitters and replace old/cheap ones with high quality. I did this and improved the signal some but still not up to par so I installed a signal amp on the tv side coming into the house which improved the signal dramatically in the back bedroom and on deck.

I did buy the bidirectional just in case i decided to put it on the whole system but chose not to since my line to my modem is semi dedicated.

How many splitters do you have?
I used to have two splitters, but I finally went and got a 1 -> 4 splitter, as well as a line-amp, which helped with the signal.

Or, to help narrow it down, connect the problem TV to another, known good cable connection in the house, and see if it's screwy there too. If UPN is still bad, then something's weird in the TV's tuner. If it's good, it is either the splitter, or maybe the cable run.
