televised baseball audio

Watching the world series tonight and had been wondering how they get the sound of the plate from the telephoto shots of the pitcher and plate during pitches (obviously shot from behind the outfield). After a home run, you could see a guy with one of those big satelite dish style mics that must be for getting sound from the plate, but that's 400 feet away, so is it safe assume they delay all video feeds by at least 400 ms to let the audio feed catch up to the video feed?
