telescope cleaning

In general, you should avoid cleaning. A mirror would need to accumulate a significant amount of dust before it begins to have a noticible impact.

Google for the recipe to Doc G's cleaning solution. It's a homemade cleaning solution that's suitable for cleaning the corrector plates on SCT telescopes. I'm not sure whether it would damage an aluminized surface (ie a mirror) so you might want to ask in one of the Yahoo telescope forums or maybe one of the forums at astromart.com.
