Telephonus Gigantis Nokius: the largest of the cellular pocket mammals

Good Lord, my Samsung A460 started just getting horrible reception after a recent encounter with the pavement, so I ordered a nokia 3588i. I needed a basic phone without all the vision crap as I'm on a retention plan. This thing seems like a brick, but the reception trounces my borked phone. Don't they make a 8290-esque phone that's sprint compatible? 😕

The color screen is pretty, though... ooohhh...

Question: Can I use a vision enabled phone without the vision?

yes.. but you won't be able to use vision.
Really? I thought to activate the handset required vision to be enabled. If it's not required then I just did that all wrong.. 😕

Lucky I have big hands, maybe I'll just keep the nokia. Looking old school is fashionable sometimes, is it not?

Vision is pretty much web, "text" messaging (which is laugable), downloading ring tones, downloading games etc.
you just won't be able to use this portion of your phone.

Get a data cable download PC Suite free from Nokia & sync it with your PC, I have a 6800 & love it because it'll sync with Outlook (I have a charging cradle too)...
