telephone newbie

i have to do a conference call from home and i don't know how to use the phone :eek:

how do i turn off call waiting or whatever that beepy thing is when somebody calls, so that during the conference call, i/they don't hear my phone do stuff?

thank you

i have SBC local service, but this stuff is the same everywhere?

He just meant he only had to use it during his dial-up modem days... so he's trying to remember how it was done back then... you know... like 1990s... that was sooooo long ago. :)

i think it worked, it did a beepy noise when i did the *70

i don't know if my mute button works though, the light didn't come on when i mashed it

oh well, i guess this is what i get for taking a day off

... while on the call, dial *6 to see if it mutes it. Works with our teleconference lines...
