Telemarketing gone: Spam assault beginning

Well, despite the DNC list being legally unenforcable, it looks like telemarketers are obeying by it. Phone lines have been dead silent for the past 5 days.

But my mail server, which services 10 accounts and used to receive 2-3 spam messages a day between them. Now every account on the server gets upwards of FIFTY per day.

Did telemarketing agencies just switch medium?

Possibly. I doubt it will last though. Industry is really working at putting the brakes on spam. I used to get tons from Hotmail, but now I get absolutely none. The only place I am still getting lots from is Yahoo. MS should take them to school on how to stop it.

i think they did...my friggin school ucsd account got smothered (from 10 to 70 a day)...my yahoo and hotmail accounts (had about 2 spam a week on avg) now gets around 2 spam a day.. 🙁

and my dad noticed a sudden jump as well..his account had like 1-5 times a week avg....that figure jumped to 20 a day 😕

It's not gone... I'm getting flooded by Arnold calling me and asking me to vote for him! LoL

Seriously, the DNC list has put a serious damper on the business at my work. It's a mortgage company that generates well over 2/3rds of its business from telemarketing. We ran all of our leads through the DNC list filter and a huge number of the leads went bye bye. 🙁

Well, politicians are exempt - remember?

Time to go door to door. That way, when you piss someone off during dinner they have you right where they want you.

spam is bad, but nearly as bad as telemarketing. You can control when and where you want to do deal with spam.

I was thinking the same thing. Then, today, I received a recorded call telling me that I didn't win the PT Cruiser, but there were other prizes that I might be able to submit for. 🙁
