For months I've been getting constant telemarketing calls from a duct cleaning service.

Online I see lots of others also are, with lots of complaints.

For months, I've told them to remove me from calling lists - the call from many spoofed numbers with my local prefix. I've told them if they don't, I'll make an appointment just to waste their time, over and over.

They called again today. I finally made an appointment for them to come tomorrow.

They said they'll call before coming - the only question is whether to tell them then or when they show up.

Ouch!

Edit: And yes, definitely waste their time and keep setting up new appointments doing the same thing. I'd hope that they would finally take your name off the list after a few visits but if not at least you are costing them money.

We get dozens of these junk calls. I don't even bother getting up to look at the display.

I think you can file a formal complaint and get compensation for each call after you have already told them never to call again, but I could be mistaken.

if you are that upset over them calling you then get a fax machine and let it answer those calls. You will be surprised how quickly those calls will stop.

Wait, this is on a landline? Man I haven't had one of those in forever and when I did I never answered it because it was just telemarketing bullshit. Lately telemarketers have been calling my cell more and more, I thought that was what this was about.

you answer calls from number you don't know?
He's an optimist . . . it could be his future wife on the phone.

OP, I have a question and a suggestion for you.

The question: What is it about your filthy, disease-ridden abode that these telemarketers have found out about you?

The suggestion: Record the next call. Nothing works better than duct tape.

Book the appointment. When the salesman shows up tell him he wasted his time and his gas working a lead that he won't make a dime on because his shitbag company doesn't respect the no call list. They'll stop calling you.

A guy on Calguns basically made a living sueing the telemarketers. Kept call logs, got contractors licenses numbers, made the appointments and got business cards when the person showed up. On the 2nd phone call he went to small claims court. Had to train a judge or two on the Do Not Call list and the federal laws involved. The fines went up big time on the 3rd call.

Many never showed thinking it was a joke. Judges don’t like that.
