Hi

Has any store owners / managers have any experience with Telecheck's e-check services? I was thinking about it, and also SCAN, too, and was interested in hearing anyone's stories...

Consumer (often nightmare) stories are welcomed, too!

Telecheck uses some weirdo voodoo algorithms. I stopped writing checks when I got denied by them at a local computer store for a $1500 purchase, even though the account it was drawn on had > $1 million in it. (Company stuff.)

yea, I read a lot about that since I went to www.telecheck-sucks.com/ and read the posts. Turns out they also got sued by the state attorney general (who won the appeal) in WV (read complaint here State ex rel. McGraw v. Telecheck Services, No. 30731) and NJ ...

How many checks are you gonna accept per month? What will the average check size be? If you only take small checks every so often then its not even worth the montly fee since the "bouced/closed account/etc.. check is still less than the monthly fee.

A lot of people pay by check around here, which is why they seem to also write a lot of bad checks
(unfortunately)

but, we've decided not to use e-checks, and we will just keep the court paper work for small claims on the counter. We don't want to pass the extortion and seemingly illegal hassle from telecheck for customers that write good checks in addition to the bad ones...
