HELP!!!

I got a Tekram DC-390U3W sitting here. The manual is wrong! It shows only 2 jumpers for setting the PC64/32 bit....but there are 3 jumpers. By default it's set:

JP2 - ON
JP1- 1-2 ON (it has 3 pins 1-2-3)
JP3 - OFF (no documentation in manuals or on-line)

I'm putting this into a 32-bit PCI. How do I set it?

The manual is also confusing about the cable. Should my drive to on the END or in the MIDDLE? They included an active terminator so I do know that will go wherever the hdd doesn't, duh. Also, does anyone know if this IBM has "internal termination"...the manual says that LVD devices have internal termination disabled by default and you cannot change it.

arggggg...the PAIN!

can't help with your jumper problem but if your ibm hdd is a lvd on then there's no termination on the hdd itself as it needs the terminator to be at the end of the cable!
suggest you put the hdd on the next connector up from the terminator!

bacillus is right about the placement of the jumper. You HAVE to use the active jumper for any LVD setup...

I looked at the product online, and you are right, the only refer to two jumpers in the manual (which is bad), but the product image has another jumper below with 3 pins.
It seems most likely that the 3rd jumper is for some other use, otherwise they would have updated the manual by now.
Your best bet is to set the jumpers as outlined in the manual - if you need additional assurance, call your tech hotline.
