Tekken 6 Kind of disappointing :-(

I have Tekken DR for my PSP and I LOVE that game.

I just got Tekken 6 for my 360. I read some of the reviews so I kind of new what I was getting but it's still pretty disappointing.

DR has WAY more content. The story mode is pretty good. Each one is unique. The "arcade" mode I like better too. You can just play match after match on and on to level up your character. You can choose from one of three available opponents for the next match.

DR has the Tekken Dojo mode too.

And with Tekken 6 even on easy (I suck so I have to play on easy) the computer AI is kind of cheap. DR the AI scales much better.

Tekken 6 arcade mode is crappy compared to the story mode from DR and there is no mode like the "arcade" mode from DR.

What's with the cheezy boss battles? Robots? A pink dragon? What does a pink dragon have to do with Tekken.

At least in DR at the end of the story mode you battled a boss that fit with the whole tekken story.

The scenario campaign is kind of crappy too. Bad camera angles mostly.

Graphics are nice, although I was expecting better in regards to the arenas.

I'll play it, but I wouldn't buy it again if I had the choice.

are you REALLY basing your judgement on a FIGHTING game based on it's content and single player modes?

fighters are about playing live human 1 on 1, and nothing more.

For you, maybe. I love fighting games and rarely play against another person.

I pretty much agree but I really gotta commend Capcom for including the challenge mode in SF4. That was a mode that was single player but really helped learn the system.

Yes I am. There is no reason NOT to have a decent single player mode (like PSP DR) as well as online.

Same thing goes for games like CoD. Sure it's a blast online but at least there's a good single player game included. After all it too is just a fighting game albeit one with weapons instead of fists and feet.

The bolded part is why the single player mode got more attention from the developers.

I played it for a bit over the weekend.

I am not liking it really. It just feels so slow and so dated, and I am not a fan of the dial-a-combo combo system at all anymore.

I don't think I will really be getting into this game like I was hoping :(

DR wasn't just for the PSP. Also the single player story mode for Tekken 6 is way better than anything DR had. For one thing, it actually has a story. DR didn't have ANY story in it at all. Tekken 6 shows the ENTIRE story from the first Tekken to this one, which I found interesting since even though I've played them all I had never known the story.

The fighting in the story mode though... didn't like. I prefer side to side, except in Soul Calibur.
