lotsa new errors in its place though.

I had to reset my password to login for example.

sounds more like an inconvenience than an error.

Well, JRUN *is* dead, but the question is will OTHER things break. But if they break they can be fixed....jrun was just broken out of the box

I hit message preview four times with errors on the first three attempts.

I was able to log in with my password normally... after I figured out what it is.

Couldn't log in today, said my 'credentials are invalid.'

Solved this by re-setting my password.

And Uhh, what is 'JRUN?' It has something to do with Java right?

Jrun is what lets you run CF on Java platforms. It's more than that but that's what's involved here.

Yea, and if we just stuck to Coldfusion 5 instead of upgrading to Coldfusion MX we'd have never seen JRun. CF went down the sh|tter when they ported it over to Java.

Still it's slow as fvck. I understand .NET for some situations but for a site that is performance oriented... you'd think a PHP5 board would be more appropriate. .NET is great for more commercial use but for this type of community I'm just suprised, to say the least. vBulletin and Invision Board are both much, much faster than I've ever seen this forum.

.NET sucks as bad as Java. PHP4 and PHP5 kick the hell out of both and is 1000x more portable.

why was it changed in the first place?

Because JRUN was evil. More evil then the Robot Devil, and damn, that guy is EVIL!
