Have you had teeth whitening done at a dentist office? Were there any issues or problems like increased sensitivity afterwards (long-term)? Thanks.

No issues for me, and my teeth came up in shade nicely.

Im just curious; I know that most likely, that kind of procedure wasn't covered by insurance, so how much did it run you?

free. it's a work benefit.
but i believe it costs about $200 for one arch and $300 for both, and we aren't in the city where it's likely more costly.
one good thing is you keep your custom made trays and so if you want to touch up your whitening all you have to do is buy more gel which runs about $25-30.
you may get insurance to pay for the exam and the impressions taken to make the bleaching trays if the dental office works it for you.
the syringes actually have an expiration date on them.Originally posted by: ViviTheMage

well then I got a hell of a deal for free then!
I had about 10 gel syringes and the teeth molding was free. those syringes lasted forever.

I may have to look into it. Thats dirt cheap compared to what I would expect to pay. I've flirted with the idea of teeth whitening for some time now...
My teeth arent yellow, but I wouldnt mind having them a few shades whiter. A few years of smoking and a couple cups of coffee a day

My dentist told me that Crest Whitestrips works just as well as what he can do and it is cheaper and convenient to use.

With using the tray/gel applications....... (someone in this thread said something about widening/openind of the pores in your teeth)
After an application, say you eat something with a lot of coloring in it or drink a dark soda. Would this affect the teeth coloring at all?
