Did it make a difference? I brush my teeth twice a day but I guess drinking too much coffee and the casual smoking doesn't help. So anyone tried any? Recommendations?

I have tried the crest ones and the rembrant ones and i prefer the rembrant ones more, however, i know that you should not use them a lot because they are quite harsh...
When i did use them, they seemed to work quite well!

I used the Crest white strip premium package, given to me by my dentist.

It was a 45 day program with the "premium" package. And I couldn't last all those days. I would use two strips every other day. The strips have hydrogen peroxide in them, and they wear away at the enamel of the tooth. So, it makes your tooth very sensitve, but it also leaves them very, very white. They worked wonderfully. My teeth got so sensitive that even when I would inhale/exhale, the chill from the air hurt my teeth, so imagine how it made eating cold food! All in all, I loved the results I got, even though I had to endure a little pain throughout the whole process.

My wife used them prior to our wedding and they worked quite well. I think she used the Crest brand.

Thanks for the reply.

I also purchased the Rembrant ones, got the two pack bundle from Costco. I put on the first strips this morning when I walked to work. Of course I didn't see any improvements on the first day but I am going to continue for the next 7 days and see how it goes. I also prayed for anyone to not ask me any questions, directions (living in a big city, you get asked for directions all the time), because I tried speaking at home with the strips on and thought I sounded like Robocop :)

How long does the white teeth last after using them?

YMMV, but they work too well for me. My teeth almost started to glow in the dark. When I would meet new people they would stop and stare at my teeth.

LOL, haha I remember an episode of some show where the guy got his so white (by dentist) that he would scare off girls at a party with some neon lights.

That pretty much matches my experience, with the shorter treatment period. My dentist recommended using Sensodyne for sensitive teeth, starting a week or two before starting the strips, and that made a huge difference. I was able to do the full week with hardly any discomfort.

depends if you drink coffee, smoke, drink red wine, etc.

Ok, I drink 1 tall coffee and 5-6 espressos a day, drink 2-3 bottles of red wine per week, and smoke a cigar or two every other day. I guess I shouldn't expect the whiteness to last long?

I bought the cheap ones from Kmart a long time ago. They worked great. All of them are somewhat temporary, but they work. Just be sure to brush your teeth after you use them to clear out the excess residue they leave behind.

I bought crest strips from Wal Mart last summer and have still only used about half of them. They worked really well, although my teeth have definitely started to fade back again. They were really tough to use, as others have said, because they make your teeth really sore. They also ate away a bit at my gums and my gums would hurt when I brushed my teeth. It was worth it since it was only about 2 weeks of pain. The gel stuff on the strips tastes like crap too and would make me gag.

Try them, they really aren't that expensive and if you don't like them, stop using them!

Crest white strips work pretty well. They did make my teeth very sensitive so I stopped using them. Maybe I need to try the sensodyne solution suggested above.

crest strips for 2 times a day for a week really work well. depends on how stained your teeth are before, but the results are remarkable. i actually got it for myself after seeing positive effects on 2 of my friends. a whiter smile really improves things.
