I have noticed that I am clenching me teeth a lot lately. I may just be watching TV then think about it, and sure enough they are clenched. This seems to happen a lot lately and probably why I have headaches. This is a sign of stress, blah, blah, blah,...

Am I the only one with this? It really sucks and I am trying not to do it, but it seems like I do it all the time.

WTF??

I have heard of this numerous times, but I am not guilty of it myself. I belive the agreed upon solution was to get your dentist to make you a plastic guard molded to fit your mouth to prevent damage.

It's not when I sleep though. I know about the guards for that.

I do it when I am awake, I just notice it and say to myself "WTF?"

I honestly believe it can be when you are awake as well. Some people have to wear it when they are not eating or drinking. *shrugs* This is just what I read. Have you tried googling for more info on teeth clenching?

You can try sucking your thumb. That should help. ;)

I was doing that for awhile. That and popping one of my jaw joints. I just started doing it one day and it lasted for about 2 weeks, now I've stopped. I don't know why I was doing it, it wasn't during a particularly stressful time in my life.

I am sure you are not the only one. Probably anxiety related...
You have any reason to be in an over anxious state?

I think it's because more and more TV nowadays is very similar to being yelled at... I mean the commericials, the shows themselves...

I'm being facetious of course but if you notice, there's a lot of truth behind it.

TV isn't really relaxing anymore... go kill some Skaarj or something. :)

Keep a finger in your mouth at all times. If you start to clench you will bleed. It cured my habit.

if you want to stop clenching your teeth, put a peice of aluminum foil between your teeth...preferably between 2 fillings

It's not "grinding" it is clenching. I notice that I am biting down pretty hard every so often. I have tried to stop but seem to keep doing it. Really frustrating and nothing seems to help, so I guess I will clench more while I figure it out...

Get some gum. I clinch mine probably 50,000 times a day.
