You mean their parents that taught them this, right?

Maybe or maybe not. Kids don’t always follow their parents political leanings and often take the opposite approach as a means of rebellion. I know plenty of kids growing up from conservative family’s that were pretty left leaning for instance. It seems the "counter culture" at the moment is to lean right so it wouldn’t suprise me that this kid is MAGA as a means of rebellion.

Their parents said they were good kids, so it appears they were not surprised.

Um... You're taught racism; being racist as a means of rebellion is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. These kids are following in their parents' footsteps.

Stop defending racists.

In an email to this reporter, the mother of the student right up in Phillips’ face said the story was “fake news.” She claimed that Phillips, who she referred as a “this man,” in quotation marks, was drumming close to the teen’s face. But her biggest gripe, besides saying this reporter was promoting hate, was that she alleged the students were themselves harassed. By “black Muslims.”

“Shame on you! Were you there? Did you hear the names the people where calling these boys? It was shameful. Did you witness the black Muslims yelling profanities and video taping trying to get something to futher (sic) your narrative of hatred?? Did you know that this “man” came up to this one boy and drummed in his face? Shame on you. Only reporting what you want. More fake news.”

Every parent says they are good kids, wouldnyou expect them to say otherwise? Every time a kid gets shot the parents say "he was a good boy, really sweet and dreamed of going to college" even though the reason he kid was shot was a robbery or assault or something like that.

Can't help but agree. I'm not doing a full on Trump "both sides" argument, but the other dude wasn't shying away from banging a drum 2 inches from his face. The kid was hands down the cocky looking retard though.

Like you said, nothing violent... not even saying anything obscene. Disrespectful? Sure, I guess. Ruin their lives forever? Now who is the crazy one?

By the way, the VERY VERY VERY FUCKING MINUSCULE few of you left leaning people here that are willing to branch out and realize that condemning these kids entirely isn't beneficial to society... You've shown that you're one of the sane people in life that aren't discriminate pieces of shit like the rest.

And as far as any progress - no amount of doxxing them and throwing them under the bus is going to fix the underlying problem. By doxxing them you're just going to make them go into hiding where they are likely just going to keep voting for Trump - and maybe some you might push towards white supremacist groups. Does that sound like progress? (Hint: It isn't dipshits).
Clearly your way of ignoring them does not work. What is your solution??

I do absolutely agree that racism is a taught thing, which is why this resurgence of racism being ok by the left is so damaging. My generation (30 year olds) by and large aren’t teaching their kids to be racist, it’s being filtered out over generations. When I was growing up it was nothing to hear my parents talk about black people. We’ve never once mentioned skin color to our kids (I’ll purposefully find some other way to describe someone) and they’ve grown up not seeing it. My son is in high school and I can tell he’s learned about racism and skin color such in school or with friends (not that he is racist). My daughter in the fifth grade still seems color blind which is good. I can only remember one time my dad said something racist around them and I snapped back real quick to keep that shit to himself.

So yes it’s learned, not necessarily from the parents, and it seemed to be disappearing from society generationally up until it suddenly became acceptable (on the left this time) to be racist again. And it’s degrading years of work trying to stamp it out.

I will not celebrate that, but we're at the point where the only way these fucking racist pieces of shit will change is if they have to face tangible repercussions for their actions. I hope no harm beyond mean words and maybe some difficulty in explaining their actions to a world that holds them accountable for them, befalls them. But I do not worry about them having to understand the fear that they have been instilling into others, especially since it will be momentary compared to the lifetime of apprehension that they've made sure others will deal with because of their despicable ideology.

Plus, have a hunch that Turmp will be hosting them in the White House with hamberders ASAP.

But the increase of this kind of behavior is just a one off in the country, right?? /s

Inspiration coming from the top that so many here still support. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.

I’d say the increase in racism on the right (who has always had racists don’t get me wrong, but it was very unacceptable to be so publically) is a direct response to the left all of the sudden becoming racist. I mean look at this board, it’s become publically acceptable to boil a person down to the color of their skin. Don’t be surprised when there’s a reaction to that.

Well yes IF their parents taught them this. And esp the adults that should have been supervising them on the trip.
Read post#53 and you'll have your answer.

I’d say if anything the president we have now is a direct response to the left becoming racist. The pendulum swung.

The kids were in town for the Republican Party's annual anti-choice extravaganza. The local Catholic diocese in Covington made the right noises in condemning the conduct of the students. However some of the comments by anti-choicers show the horseshit they feed themselves. Some fear that the movement will be seen as partisan with its embrace of Trump. Somehow sleeping with the worst Republican filth for the past 45 years wasn't partisan. It's like they've convinced themselves that they aren't just another Republican sub-brand.

There’s a lot of nothing to see here’s in that but if the Native American group started it by walking up to them and beating there drums in their face I think it adds a whole lot more context to the situation.
