I saw the thread title, and was gonna disagree, stating teenagers have always been dumbasses, but you might be right :^/

When I was in junior high almost 20 years ago kids snorted their necklaces and pulled them out of their mouths for shits and giggles. One kid caught an infection from it.

Who is the one listening to the "crazy things teens are doing" hysteria "news" coming out of some random local news station?

Probably not current generation teens

I like how the OP conveniently left out what generation he's in.

It's hard to tell. Are teenagers really dumber (they seem to be) or is it that it's just easier for them to publicize their dumbassery?

I think the dumbassery can get much larger with social media, that being said I do remain puzzled by things like the alcohol "fire challenge" bit, as dumb as I was during my teen years I never considered pouring flammable liquid onto myself and igniting it.

It's probably social media one-upmanship. It used to be that kids got their stupid ideas locally, they'd hear of what dumbasses at other schools were doing and they'd do the same. Now it's dumbasses post their videos on social media and other dumbasses are not inspired to copy it, but to be even bigger idiots to get more views and likes.

I'm surprised that no terrorists have managed to harness the power of social media and exploit this. Post some fake videos of teens surviving stunts that would be automatically fatal if done for real, let the dumbass real teens try to copy the stunts and *poof*.

Yeah I still remember being a teenager and all the moronic stuff that went on. This is dumb, but I'm pretty sure it's not in the top 1 million on the list of stupid things teenagers have done.
