This is disgusting. I can't believe the cruelty of some people.
story

What do you think should be the appropriate punishment for these boys? I guess anti-cruelty counseling is sorely needed.

And this leads to another question: what leads people to commit deliberate acts of cruelty to other people/beings? I'm sure these boys lead "normal" lives and have been taught right from wrong...but WHY do they do this kind of crap?

Just because they killed dogs? That's a bit extreme. No matter how you look at it, it all comes down to the dogs being just that...dogs. Animals. I mean I love dogs to death...but the punishment of death is too harsh for stupid teenage boys.

running over a dog, that's one thing. Killing a dog and eating it, there goes another. Killing a dog out of pleasure in such a cruel matter, you have a problem with 'broken' kids...

Oh how stupid some people are.

I really think they should tie them up to some railroad tracks. Not kill them, but scare the hell outta em.

Behavior like that is definitely not ok. I can understand a penny or quarter, but not a dog.

NO its not extreme its a proven fact that murderers start out with cruelty to animals.
These kids are no more than dogs themselves and should be executed as a service to
society.Nobody will miss them.

When I lived near Detroit a group of kids decided to douse a cat, that they thought belonged to another schoolmate, in gasoline and set it on fire in a bucket, in an alley. The cat ran out of the bucket and out of the alley in flames where passer-bys doused the cat with a hose. Not only was this an act of extreme and deliberate cruelty, the cat didn't even belong to the school mate. It belonged to an old single woman, who had owned it for more than 10 years. If I remeber right the kids were sent to either jail or Ju-V (depending on how old they were), fined a good amount of money, thrown into counseling. I was really young but it still reamins in my mind and I can't understand how twisted and evil some people can be.

Well, I think he's kidding.

Makes me wonder though if that boy may graduate to people some day instead of dogs.

Case studies of serial killers frequently reveal that they started out abusing/killing animals before moving on to people. If you can torture one form of life strictly for the fun of it, it's not that big a deal to move on to another.

Execute them then go and sterilize their parents so they can't poison the world's gene pool any further.

Sounds extreme, but we're not talking about someone hitting an animal with a car. They stole the dog, beat it, tied it to the tracks, then enjoyed watching it die.
At the mininum, they should be beaten within an inch of their lives.

I guess the thing that gets to me the most is that it was a sequence of events (stealing the dog from the yard, taking it to the tracks, clubbing it on the head, leaving it out there) If any of them had any sort of conscience, they would have or could have backed out of the plan.

Secondly, they have no sense of wrong-doing or responsiblity or else they would have turned themselves in by now. Spineless bastards.

Imagine if one of these kids was your next door neighbor. Moreover imagine if they had a baby brother or sister. If I their parent, I don't I could, in good conscience, leave them unsupervised with that baby. Whether or not they're in high school, and should be able to take care of a younger sibling. These are the kinds of kids who'd introduce their 10 year old brothers to crack. (I've witnessed this personally, and the older brother in that case WAS also very cruel to the pets of the household)

For what reason did these kids do this? To upset the family? To intimidate their schoolmate? What is it that drives bullies to be what they become? Luckily I never had any trouble in high school from anyone, but we certainly had our share of thick-headed bullies who would destroy something of someone else's just to get some kicks and assert their "bad ass" image. Ultimately these were also the kids who usually didn't graduate and instead went on to jail for things like rape and drugs.

Try them as adults and send them to prison. Let's see how they like being the bitch! Or put them in a kennel with a bunch of untrained German Sheppards.

You always here about how such and such's murder could've been avoided if they had caught on to earlier signs of disturbing behavior. Well, they better not miss one.:|
