these rare cases are started to become more common now...

"A 14-year-old Virginia boy is weak and struggling to walk after coming down with a reported case of Guillain-Barre syndrome within hours after receiving the H1N1 vaccine for swine flu. Jordan McFarland, a high school athlete from Alexandria, Va., left Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children Tuesday night in a wheelchair nearly a week after developing severe headaches, muscle spasms and weakness in his legs following a swine flu shot. He will likely need the assistance of a walker for four to six weeks, plus extensive physical therapy."

Wow...glad I held off on that...though with the prevalence of the shot now and this being the only reported incident, it's probably isolated.

It's best not to get vaccinated these days. My suggestion is that people just risk getting the illness, rather than subject themselves to the one in a billion chance that they will have some side effects. Everyone knows this.

People are terrible at evaluation relative risk.

Risk of GB after flu shot <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< risk of dying/killing granny from flu.

Woah that's crazy. The first time, I figured ok, it's rare, but it happens. This is now the 3rd time someone gets this! Maybe more.

I think there are eggs in the flu shot. Could it be these people were allergic to eggs and it caused this? They asked me if I was allergic to eggs before I got mine.

I wonder if this condition is permanent for those people who got it? That's really scary. I'm sure there's an explanation though and they just did not find it yet. It wont really scare me from getting it again in the future. In fact the H1N1 shot does not work for the seasonal flu but you can't take both in a short time span so I still have my regular one to get in a few months. I normally never bother but since I work in the hospital I figure it's best I get it, for myself, and for others.

So far, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have received five reports of GBS in people who received the H1N1 vaccine since Oct. 6, not including Jordan’s case, said Dr. Claudia J. Vellozzi, deputy director for immunization safety.

Out of about 40 million doses of H1N1 vaccine available to date, that’s a far lower rate of GBS than the 1 case that develops in every 1 million people who receive the regular flu vaccine.
Meh.

You cant get both in mist form within a month. You can get shots.

GBS is not related to egg allergies. It's also usually not permanent.
