Ummmm....I don't support the smuggling of people, but killing him is just sad. This is suppose to be the greatest country in the world, so should it be of any surprise people sneaking to come here? Reading that made me think of Harriet Tubman. My grandmother used to say you can be 100% right and 100% wrong all at the same time.
That's true. It's like fighting a child who hit you first. You will feel you are acting unjustly if you harm the child and foolish if the child harms you and always wonder if the fight is necessary. Same goes for Israel situation or women or just about anything else you can impose your absolute will. Always a tough issue. Your grandma is a smart woman.

Perhaps the best posts I have read in P&N in quite some time.

OMG!!! he smuggled human beings who wanted to come to America

MURDER Columbus now.. fuck it and all be damned .. what does that bitch out in the water say ... lying bitch

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

He was with a group of pepole and attacking the border patrol. He was not shot for smuggling people.

Exactly!

So..., why is this thread even here? To help some feel better about killing him?

No, to show that he wasn't a helpless, innocent honor student that would never hurt a fly, gunned down by evil Americans.

He was a career criminal, and his bad choices led to his death.

How did you feel about his death before you found out he had broken a law in the past?

Enforcing the Constitution is not being big government.

Um no.. it still can be. The Constitution is a start towards small govt, but depending on interpretation can still lead towards big govt.

Speaking of interpretation, let's discuss this interpretation that you and spidey seem to have. The only lines of the Constitution that could be construed to support anti-immigration policy are in the preable ("provide for the common defense"), and in article I, section 8, part 4 ("The Congress shall have Power... To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization").
So that the 2 of you seem to think that the Constitution supports a hard-line position regarding anti-immigration is what I would definitely consider to be a big govt interpretation of the Constitution, akin to when lefties say the "promote the general Welfare" line in the preamble supports socialized medicine.

Yep. Rightwing Authoritarians always believe that authority can do no wrong, and anything that could possibly cast doubts upon their beliefs must be a lie. Therefore, showing this kid was a bad person, then he deserved to die, which means the Border Patrol agent was correct in shooting him.

Should it be any surprise that a border patrol agent would shoot at someone trying to bean him with a rock? He was upholding our laws, give him a commendation, not a condemnation.

He was correct so your post is moot.

Wait was he supposed to allow himself to be stoned to death to appease bleeding heart, emotional wrecks like yourself? I think not.

So you can quote a poem...not an official US document, a fucking poem.

Let us know when this become some official US doctrine instead of a "feel-good" saying on a statue.

Its funny having my point made for me, good job.

I'm sure that me, the person who doesn't believing in murdering a kid is the person who is the emotional wreck.

I understand all the arguments of this illegal immigrant issue. But my point is to relish in the killing of people now as if that is something to be proud of or a proper means to an end is disturbing. And if you and others can't see that you have lost some humanity.

Agreed. Kind of twisted that people here in a sense take pleasure in this kid's death.

Humanity is an oxymoronical concept- human race has more traction in reality!
May the best race win!
Maybe you can't get your black tar smack now? Huh? Punk!

dude brought rocks to a gun fight. in fact him and his buddies instigated the whole situation by throwing rocks.

I'm sure that me, the person who doesn't believe throwing rocks at people with guns is the emotional wreck.

Has the BP officer in question been charged with murder? No so your premise and underhanded assertion is totally based on your emotional issues against authority figures enforcing the law and defending themselves.

Thank YOU for proving my point.
