A girl I know is pregnant accidentally, I found out because my sister told me, she?s ?supporting? her as a friend right now, someone to talk to. She never used to talk with my sister a lot until now, when she needs help. Her family is very nice with a father who works very hard. She?s one of those girls who like to go out and party a lot, gets into trouble sometimes too.

Now when my sister told me about it, I had a few things to say. That?s when my sister said I was insensitive? But it really makes me sick when people, both male and female never take responsibility! And this girl comes back home begging her parents to support her because of a mistake she has made. Hey, I didn?t hear her need support when she was DOING the so-called mistake! You know, that?s the consequence of having sex when you?re not supposed to, so too bad! Deal with it! It?s something you?ll have to live with for the rest of your life.

When you reach the state of a teenage person, you?re mature enough to know the consequences of sex? If you?re not prepared, don?t do it. But no, some just go home and take their families for granted. No, I don?t feel sorry for people who don?t take responsibility. The only person I feel sorry for is the baby; I wouldn?t want a stupid mother and father?

That?s my opinion? What do you think about responsibility? Please give me some input.

A little harsh maybe, but that's about how I see it. She still has every right to go to her parents for support. That's why they're there (as she'll soon learn).

I'd call you insensitive too ;)

Honestly, if my teenage daugher were to come home to me and tell me that she had gotten pregnant, I of course would be upset (then hunt down and talk to the other party), but I would by no means throw her out on her ass. Afterall, she is my daughter and I would support her 100%. Parents are supposed to care for the kids and I would care for her if something like this were to happen.

Well I got pregnant at 17, and took total responsibility. It was a well known fact in my family, you better stand up to your mistakes and deal with them, because nobody else will do it for you. I got an apartment with my boyfriend (husband now) and we raised our child on our own from the beginning. And it was very hard to do, but at least we can look back and know we did the right thing.

Yes NFS4, parents like you are the loving and supporting ones. But it makes me mad when teenage kids take parents for granted.

My wife got pregnant when she was 17 and she faced her problems head on and also went to night school in the process.

I don't look down on her for what she did in fact I am very proud she was very dilligent to better herself.

Teenage sex is not a new thing..I think parents should do a better job educating their children in using birth control and on the moral side of the issue waiting until they get married LOL.

Some of my people are "hillbillies" and have a habit of saying things "plain and simple".

My Grandmother would likely have said that little girls need to learn to keep their little legs together. If ya go around spreadin' yer legs, yer gonna end up with more than you bargained for. ....and that little ladies are worth far more than the services they can offer and should value themselves as such.

Of course, my Grandmother also would be the first to take a pregnant teenager in her arms and tell her, "Sweet thing, I love you. You got a tough road ahead, but I'll help you get down it all I can."

She also had a favorite saying that she taught her boys and grandsons lest you gentlemen think I'm lettin' you off the hook. I remember today just as if she were sittin' here talking to me.... She told me...

...... "I just want you to know one more thing. If you choose to ignore what you've been taught, go around diddlin' everyone between here and the fence post, and happen to get a little girl pregnant.... You be sure and bring her home to supper with you..... cuz, she's just as good as you are!"
