How do you not hear or feel an incoming train ?

I have no idea personally. However there are several deaths a year on the line I take alone let alone the other Metra lines.

Lots of people do pretty stupid things around the train lines. This is another one that delayed me getting home but almost 3 hours:

Guy was just sitting on the tracks, he wasn't stalled or anything just making a turn. The sign that said "17 feet between tracks and road" I guess wasn't a deterrent.

edit:

In cab video:

Most recent death:

Apparently headphones on, walked around the gates etc.

Why do people love walking on train tracks and not respecting the fact that they're walking on "train" tracks...

There are probably a dozen deaths a year in my area alone because a pedestrian was on the tracks.

Few things make you feel so much like a badass counterculture rebel as walking on train tracks. The rare death is just part of the life, but in the end its still worth it to a lot of people.

He pushed her out of the way, i bet 90% of the keyboard warriors on the internet would have just waited for their gf to respawn. I give him credit for being a man

Outlaw trains

When trains are outlawed, only outlaws will have trains.

This kind of stupid thing happens pretty frequently...often attributed to the person having their earbuds in...and just not paying attention.

Would anyone consider it "Normal" to walk down the freeway in a traffic lane while wearing earbuds, listening to music...and not expecting to get hit by traffic?

Stupid is as stupid does.

Oh...and it COULD have been suicide by train...just sayin.
