Kind of my point here, 17 year olds should not be flying or at minimum have set flight times like truckers. Some states don't allow someone that young to drive at night.

My step-nephew became the youngest captain in the US of a commercial ship. He started working with his dad very young who was a captain and that seat time in the cockpit added up. By 18 (maybe it was before that even), he had command over his own ship and crew.

bullshit post his name and airline.. By Federal law you have to be 23 get a Airline Transport Certification (commercial A/C captain) and have a min of 1500 hours flight time.

Technically, the father cannot be a Darwin Award winner because he also has another son and daughter who weren't on the plane.

And as someone who lives in their community, I can say that the boy was a good kid who everyone really liked. It is just a tragic accident.

I didn't read the linked article so it may have been mentioned there, but these folks were Pakistani and were raising money (had already raised $500K) to build modern schools in Pakistan because the father was affected by 9/11 and thought that lack of modern education contributed to that attack. Their hearts were in the right place for sure.
