"There's a method to this archaic culture-war language. It's meant to complement the ubiquitous Vietnam-era photo of a decidedly clean-shaven, unhippielike Mr. Bush at the moment he is joining the Texas Air National Guard. The tableau shows Mr. Bush's beaming father, then a congressman, as he prepares to pin second lieutenant's bars to his son's uniform. But there's something wrong with this picture. It all too potently raises the unanswered question of just how the young Mr. Bush got into the guard, in those days a safe haven from combat duty, ahead of 100,000 others then on the national waiting list. At the time, 250 Americans a week were dying in Vietnam."

Nice post, PS.

WTF? Cliff Notes.

Sampley will Lie, Endanger, or just be an Ass in order to draw attention to the Vietnam MIA issue. He accused John McCain of being a Soviet spy, used a families tragedy(return of remains) to lie about what happened, he claimed a MIA pilot was hacked to death(pilot returned home a couple weeks later) stating that it was not yet released, but known by the Pentagon, he set up 1 Publicity Stunt(covered a darkened road with oil) that could have been fatal(police discovered the situation before any traffic came across it). His response when confronted and exposed amounts to, "If it gets exposure for the issue there is nothing wrong with it".

Sandorski:

There is no difference between Sampley and Coulter except intelligence and wit. Both believe the ends justify the means. Either one would eat their young for political gain.

HS loves to post this kind of stuff because otherwise he'd be stuck trying to figure out all the big words in Gray's Anatomy. :)

bump for the morning crowd.

One thing that I thought of last night. Doesn't Kerry's actual combat experience GIVES him the right to speak out against the Vietnam war??? What GIVES chickenhawk journalist/senators the RIGHT to criticize his military service?

Well, given that he is a public figure running for public office, the public should know what they are getting...if the press doesn't report on his record, which he is let to release, who will?

I can't stand Kerry, but Bush is hardly in a position to attack Kerry's patriotism or fervor to fight terrorism. It's sheer BS by the right wingers who don't have a real issue to discuss. Furthermore, they can't defend Bush's exercise in Charm and Grace in Iraq, and the economy has yet to rebound, so going negative is their only salvation. Bush is desperate (God only knows why, most Americans are sound asleep at the switch.) and will throw everything he's got at Kerry.

And with Karl "The Moral Leper" Rove leading the charge, we'd better watch our women and children.
