I had a tax question last month and called the IRS...I tried about every possible permutation in their voice menu system as I needed to talk to a real person. No luck and it's obvious that they don't give a damn. Fuck this shit...we need tax reform and we need it now.

Cuts in their budget translate to not having enough staff to answer all the calls they get during tax season. Thus, it isn't "obvious they don't give a damn".

Ted Cruz is a very intelligent man with a thorough grasp of constitutional and administrative law. For that reason, I find it incredibly fatiguing and maddening when he says stupid things that he knows are stupid. This is one of them. He is a shameless panderer and shit-stirrer and will, thank God, never be President.

Nail. Head. I think that's what is most disheartening to me. I know he's an incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable guy, which makes it so much worse knowing he knows he's full of shit .. and doesn't care.

I figure putting him up front is preliminary to rallying the party around Jeb. Loyal Repubs can have this nutbar, one like him, or Jeb as the shining knight of pseudo reason.

They'll take Jeb & like it, too, same as Mitt, same as Dubya.

They can have what's behind door #1-

"Sweet fucking Jesus! We're not that stupid!"

Or what's behind door #2-

"Oh God! Oh thank you! Anything but door #1!".

So easily manipulated. So predictable. So not as smart as they think they are, too.

I did! Numerous times at various stages of their incredibly convoluted voice menu system. Their bureaucracy is ridiculous...a good bit of tax reform appears to be the only way to fix it.

Agreed!

Do away with religious tax exemptions, undo Citizens United, up the highest marginal tax rate to 60%, and get rid Capital Gains loopholes.

You don't need efficiency or service when you can enforce your custom at the point of a gun.
